Finding Items To Sell on eBay
The objective with suppliers is to find those who are consistently reliable, and sell at good prices so you can make a profit.
If possible, make sure they have an on-going supply, so you can relist the same product without having to write a new description.
Make sure also that the products are available and can be shipped to your country (or your buyer’s country if you are using dropshippers). You should also check that customs in the destination country will accept the products.
“It’s not how much you can get for an item - the profit lies in how much you can source the item for”
There are a variety of sources for items to sell on eBay :
Sell unwanted items around your house It’s been said that everyone has at least $2000 of stuff lying around the house, unwanted. Go through the house, inside and out, gathering things you no longer need. Like a declutter. Make a list of these, and following the steps in “Selling on eBay Basics”, research each one, and list them. Remember the old cliche, one person’s trash is another one’s treasure. Selling what you already own is an excellent way to gain experience on eBay, increase your feedback rating, and get some initial capital to buy more stock to sell.
Second hand items When you run out of things to sell at home, buy second hand items locally, from garage sales, yard sales, flea markets, school fetes etc. Again, you’ll learn more about eBay, products and the marketplace.
New products There’s a variety of sources for these too, and you’ll need to do some research to work out the best for your situation.
Don’t know what to sell?
